I couldn’t agree with you more, Doug. When I read that the congregation gave this pastor a standing ovation, I couldn’t stop myself and went on their Facebook page and offered my comments. Shame on them.
Toward the end I was listening with the ears of a wronged wife, whose husband has not yet truly repented. Shame on him too; God knows what my husband needs to do. After five+ years our marriage is not reconciled and probably never will be. However, I have made peace with the situation, forgiven him, and we are on friendly terms. But our marriage cannot be reconciled until certain conditions are met.
Perhaps the church can make peace with this pastor, but they should insist he step down. Who knows how many young women have been victimized by him. But If nothing else, I’m glad to see his book deal has been severed by the publisher.
